Creative Expression
Color as Medicine
In early 2018, a car accident on the way to preschool left Tanya with a Traumatic Brain Injury that ended her executive career and began a years-long rehabilitation. During that process she started dabbling in the arts as a form of neurological rehabilitative therapy, and discovered a hidden talent for creation. Her brain was thirsty for color, yet her vision system was damaged and remain so to present day. Blues, greens, and purples came first. Yellow and red had to be trained toward, slowly, over time, yellows are remain difficult. These pieces trace that journey.
